Business Owner Survey

Wed, Feb 29, 2012

Attention: Astoria Business Owners

The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association (ADHDA) is conducting a brief survey to gain a better understanding of the challenges and strengths associated with doing business in Astoria, the motivation for being in business, and what operational changes a business might be able to do to meet the needs of local and out-of-town shoppers. This is a follow-up to the consumer survey that was distributed last spring to understand the factors that affect the experience of local shoppers.

ADHDA President, Dulcye Taylor, has been serving on the association’s Business Development Committee, which has been working to put together this survey.

“Being a business owner myself, I’m aware of the many challenges of owning a business. After hearing what consumers want and need from downtown Astoria, through last year’s consumer survey, I’m willing to consider making some changes to better accommodate their needs; but I can’t do it alone,” Taylor said. “ADHDA is interested in learning what our local business owners are willing to do so that we, as a downtown, can work together to support our loyal customers.”

ADHDA would appreciate your honest answers to a few questions. Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey. Individual results will be confidential; the compiled information will be made available to the public.

For those comfortable completing an online version of the ADHDA survey please use this link, http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AstoriaBizOwner. Online surveys must be completed by Friday, March 30.

Printed versions of the survey are available upon request and should be returned to the ADHDA office in the Spexarth Building (818 Commercial Street, Suite 306) by Friday, March 30 or mailed to ADHDA at PO Box 261 Astoria, OR 97103. Surveys must be postmarked by March 30.
