Downtown Clean-Up on April 22, Earth Day

Fri, Mar 16, 2012

The Astoria Downtown Historic District Association (ADHDA) is organizing a downtown clean-up to celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and is looking for volunteers. In preparation for the Astoria Sunday Market and the summer tourist season, ADHDA would like to help make sure Astoria looks its best. We will be working on various projects throughout the downtown historic district, including picking up trash, cleaning lamp posts and trash cans, and clearing moss. We will be meeting at the Sunset Empire Transit District parking lot (corner of 10th Street and Marine Drive) at 9 a.m. to hand out materials and assign jobs. All necessary cleaning supplies and lunch will be provided to volunteers. If you are interested in participating in this community event please contact Blaire Buergler at 503.791.7940 or Business and property owners are encouraged to spruce-up their buildings and storefront areas as well (several have already power washed and done some spring cleaning – thank you!).

If you have any questions, contact Downtown Coordinator Blaire Buergler at 503.791.7940 or
