Astoria Art & Beer Walk

Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate a historic town during a historic time and enjoy some contemporary fun with beer and art!
On August 13, from 5 to 9p.m., the 2nd Annual Art and Beer Walk in Downtown Astoria offers an artistic, casual and tasty way to experience the second Saturday of August. Amidst the hubbub of our historic Regatta weekend, the Art and Beer Walk will offer an opportunity to meander the streets of our quirky burg, take in some culture provided by a dynamic list of downtown venues and enjoy samples of ten different beers by Fort George Brewery.
Let the locals and visitors revel, once again, in this community's ability to constantly embrace that which is new and entertaining, while maintaining a staunch reverence for the history that defines the foundation of Astoria, both of which include a vibrant social and cultural calendar. As part of what is constantly new, Art Walk offers both tourists and residents a monthly unique opportunity to celebrate downtown Astoria, and enjoy an ever-changing display of creativity in many forms, from near and far!
This month Fort George to joining the mix and our esteemed local brewery will be providing free samples of different brews at ten of the Art Walk venues, evolving the event for the second time into the Art and Beer Walk. Fort George has been a mover and shaker in this community since they appeared on the scene in 2007. Over the past several years, in addition to the much-loved Public House, the establishment has added a taproom, a deck and a canning facility. For the August 2nd Saturday, in addition to music and other festivities, Fort George is playing host to "the Beer Show" an exhibit of art inspired by, depicting or made with ... beer! This show will debut in the Fort George taproom on August 13.
A list of Art and Beer Walk venues will be available in early August.
Maps will be available at participating downtown venues the week prior to the event. The maps will indicate all locations that will be presenting art, merchants that will be open for the evening and locations that will be serving Fort George beer. The samples are free; Fort George Vortex tasting glasses will be available for $5 each at all locations serving beer, with proceeds to benefit ADHDA (the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association).
In addition to the Art and Beer Walk, the second weekend of August is the historic event: Astoria Regatta. This event has been an annual occasion since 1894, and this year will be dedicated to Astoria's 200th Birthday! Art and Beer Walk patrons sporting a Regatta Pin will receive $1 off a tasting glass.
